Maxwell Marks Ansel is a Brooklyn-born and based Artist and Engineer whose practice navigates the intersection of sculpture, applied science, and industrial engineering. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Ansel’s work is deeply informed by the urban landscape and the "found" industrial infrastructure of New York City.
His multidisciplinary practice combines traditional craftsmanship—including metalworking, woodworking, and drawing—with advanced STEM disciplines such as electrical engineering, mechanical design, chemistry, and C++ programming for robotics. Ansel is particularly interested in themes of entropy and ecological reclamation, exploring how nature inevitably repossesses abandoned factories and forgotten architecture.
